Thomas Vorhis “Tom” Hastings, 62, of Honolulu, Hawaii, formerly of Lebanon, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at Tripler Army Hospital in Honolulu. Tom, son of Gordon Roy and Elizabeth (Vorhis) Hastings, graduated from Lebanon High School in 1968. Following graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy and later settled in Hawaii. He joined the Merchant Marines as a diesel mechanic, and he enjoyed sailing as a hobby. Survivors include his son, Mark Thomas Hastings of California, and his sister, Leah (Hastings) Shanahan of Brownsburg.
